Interlude: Practicing down-stays

i have started making them sit and stay when i open the door for them to go out, and go into a full down-stay before they get a treat. they do not like this, riley in particular. but they do it.

and somehow, rebellious though he is, i think riley is more affectionate when he is very sure of the rules. i think chaos and calling the shots makes him nervous.
