The Peter Miller Retirement Party came off without a hitch
we had a great time. we laughed. we told stories. we drank, a little. we ate, a lot. but the real miracle was: we were finally all in the same restaurant, at the same table, at the same time.
i'd love to tell you what we talked about, but it's a well-known fact that what happens at the peter miller retirement party stays at the peter miller retirement party. (except for merry. i might tell her, if she wanted to ask nicely. it is absolutely astounding to me that she remembered the party was last night.)
for those of you who don't remember what the party is, here's what i wrote last month. basically, we're four old friends who have been trying all summer to get together for dinner. if you want to know why our evening got that name, you'll have to click that link.
and if the real peter miller ever happens across this blog, i'll have a bit of explaining to do, i think. in the picture, pam is holding the poster from his actual retirement party of three months ago.
ok, here's one thing i can tell you that we talked about: anne's exercise regime. it involves getting up early, getting on her bicycle, and pedaling off ... to the bakery.
that's an exercise regime after the rotten correspondent's heart.
i'd write more, but one of those glasses of wine you see on the table was mine, and it was filled more than once... and i'm a little sleepy now.
****UPDATE*****
pam has posted a report of the evening on her blog, too! with (and this is really eerie) the exact same photo! go here to read it.
