Como Lake Christmas

we walked down to the lake this morning with the boys, to add our ornaments to the tree. every year people in the neighborhood decorate a pine tree at the edge of the path. it's always the same tree. sometimes people get enthusiastic and add ornaments to a little pine tree nearby, as well.

i don't know who started this tradition. i've never actually witnessed anyone adding an ornament to the tree. all i know is that slowly, over the month of december, decorations appear on its branches. and slowly, over january, the decorations disappear.

this morning it was two below zero, with a slight breeze. golly, it was cold. but so beautiful.
