Aw, gee, Ronnie Drew.
Update: Here is a fuller, more lyrical story about his funeral, with pictures.
Love the one of Shane MacGowan in a top hat.
Here's Bono, Mary Black, Shane MacGowan, Sinead O'Connor, and many more, singing "The Ballad of Ronnie Drew."
And you know Ronnie--the gravelly voiced guy who founded the Dubliners. Here he is singing "I'll Tell Me Ma." Unmistakable voice. You know Ronnie Drew.
and thousands attended the funeral.

Cancer sucks. This is sad.
I can't go on vacation any more. Too many bad things happen. Thanks for the video.
sad loss indeed...
Aww, saw that on the BBC. Very sad, but what a guy. At least we can say we got to enjoy him and his talents!
I do indeed know him. He was great:-(
Rest In Peace, Ronnie.
What a nice tribute. He'll be missed. His voice is so unique.
He was a grand man, great singer and visionary.
I'll miss him. My partic fav was "The Aul Triangle". He sang it with ten tons of gravel in his voice.....
