I am becoming one of those rude and self-absorbed bloggers that I resent

This is a little apology, because I know very well that I haven't been around to comment on your blogs very much, and I know full well that it is rude of me. I generally do not care for blog-as-performance-art; I much prefer blog as conversation. That means you visit me, I visit you, we talk, we become buddies.

But lately I have not been holding up my side of the buddieship. Lately I've been a bit overbooked, and so while I am still reading your blogs through Bloglines, I haven't commented much. Bloglines (as you know) is a "read-only" version of a blog, and to comment I must click again  and call up the live blog (and wait for it to load) and then click on the comments (and wait for them to load), and while all of that takes only seconds, I am not doing it much because I don't really have seconds to spare right now. But this is a temporary condition.

So I thank you for coming by and chatting, and I apologize for not reciprocating. I will as soon as things calm down, which should be later on in May. Just as soon as I finish getting all my work done in advance, go to Ireland, come back from Ireland...
