Rosie is deeply concerned about all the bad press she's been getting

Riley says it's all well-deserved--too mild!, he says; don't be fooled!--but Rosie says it's not fair; she's not even 12 weeks old yet, she should not be blamed so harshly, and she's trying her very hardest to be good.

And to prove it, this morning she was perfect. No biting, no Wolverine Mode, no soiling the house, a very nice walk, some great play with Riley, and a lovely-to-behold sit-down-wait. It's true she waited only a second or two at the most, but waiting in the down position is very very hard for a willful girl.

She is in her crate happily attacking a frozen peanut-butter-kong.

Doug weighed her last night and she's up to 16.5 pounds. Lord. At this rate--nearly three pounds a week--she should be elephant-sized by Christmas.

She knows sit down wait. Wow !!!

Jodie went to puppy class for four weeks (got cancelled) and now she has forgotten almost everything.

I have to retrain her as soon as the rain goes away.

Sit/stays are so hard for high spirited dogs. When I see Leo in a sit/stay from behind, his little tail nubbin is practically vibrating from the excitement of it all.

I have no doubt that with your perseverance and Rosie's intellect, she is going to be one well trained pup.

BTW, I met a one year old golden yesterday who was so proud to get his service dog pin and bouquet of flowers for his achievement. I'm thinking he'd have preferred a frozen peanut butter kong.

I told Rory about the frozen peanut butter kong and he has been sitting pretty ever since....

Great stuff. I see a smidge of outrage in her eyes as she sits there in her adorable pink harness. "I don't know why you people say 'Wolverine' like it's a bad thing. Wolverines are awesome!' "

"Willful" is the perfect word for her.

All that bad press is completely undeserved.

And, wow, this is going to be one big dog!

if that isn't one of the most gorgeous pic of 2 dogs I've ever seen. I adore Riley's expression. It speaks volumes.

I'm glad Rosie was so well behaved today. That does make up for all the other days, doesn't it? Hopefully this is going to be the new trend. Who knows whar wonderful surprises she had up her sleeve yet?

Deuce was defiant and sulky and bitey and willful as a pup. The word "wait" changed all our lives. He now thinks it's his "job" to "wait", and it's surprising how many situations can be solved with "wait!"
You found the magic word!
