Our little girl is growing up

ROSIE'S ACHIEVEMENTS

* Graduated from baby collar to big-girl collar
* Barked at a stranger going past the house.
* Barked to be let out to go pee (or possibly to go play).
* Can go up and down the stairs.
* Achieved a 45-second down-stay.
* Immediately after the down-stay, entered her terrible two rebellious years and now it's a battle of will merely to get her to sit.
* Can get her to drop the leash on walks merely but saying, sternly, "Drop it!"  (Of course she then grabs it again almost immediately.)
* Started noticing birds.

ROSIE'S SETBACKS

* Took a big dump in the living room this morning. The housebreaking continues.

Don't forget that she's still a puppy and that she will be inconsistent in her performance. But it sounds like she's making huge strides and that's great. Tyke and I watch on in admiration. xox

She really is beginning to look less like a puppy and more like the beautiful dog she will become.

You have interviewed Garrison Keillor?! I bow before you. Send me an email and tell me what the experience was like. Or write a blog post - it would be fascinating.

Catching up with you, and your beautiful new addition. What a winner!

Wow, they grow up fast! Or maybe it doesn't seem so fast when they're having setbacks. :-)

Are you sure? Her expression seems to say, are you sure Riley didn't do that?

She does look like a big girl now.
Mine is almost six months old and still if left alone will make a mistake. She does go to the door though and bark to go out. I just have to run to get there in time.

I do love how Rosie is changing.

Hi, Wonderful achievements and accidents do happen occasionally. Our little Hunter is settling in but still a bit timid-hopefully he will be really comfortable over the next week.
I put a leash on him for the first time today and he hated it-pulled away and fussed.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Noreen & Hunter

True story: my niece did that same thing as a toddler, took a dump in the living room. She graduates high school next weekend and is fully housetrained.
Rosie's going to get there!

Wish I could remember where I found this quote: "'It was the best of times. It was the worst of times...' (Dickens must have had a puppy)"

Slow but steady progress. She does look more grown up now.
